- “In-scope” the systems, services, and assets that the Organizers expressly authorize you to attack.
2. Eligibility
Participation is open to individuals who complete registration truthfully and satisfy any affiliation requirements announced by the Organizers (including, where applicable, a valid Holy Angel University email address). Participants below 18 years of age must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The Organizers may verify eligibility at any time and may refuse or revoke registration at their sole discretion.
3. Registration & Accounts
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity conducted under your registration or code name. One person may hold only one registration unless the Organizers state otherwise. Impersonation, shared accounts, or falsified details are grounds for disqualification.
4. Code of Conduct
CYBERFOXES is committed to a harassment-free, respectful, and inclusive environment. Participants must:
- Treat organizers, staff, and fellow participants with courtesy and respect;
- Refrain from harassment, discrimination, hate speech, threats, or abusive behavior in any Event channel;
- Follow the lawful instructions of the Organizers and Event moderators; and
- Compete with honesty and integrity, embodying the spirit of fair play.
5. Rules of Engagement
The Event is a jeopardy-style Capture the Flag competition. Unless a challenge explicitly states otherwise:
- Solve challenges individually or within your registered team, as announced;
- Submit flags only through the official Platform;
- Do not share flags, solutions, hints, or exploits with other participants during the competition window;
- Automated brute-forcing of the flag-submission endpoint is prohibited; and
- Respect published rate limits and resource constraints.
6. Scope & Authorization
You are authorized to test, probe, and exploit only the in-scope challenge systems designated by the Organizers, and only for the purpose of solving challenges during the Event. This authorization is limited, revocable, and does not extend to any other system, network, or third party.
7. Prohibited Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited and constitute grounds for immediate disqualification and possible legal action:
- Attacking, scanning, or disrupting the scoreboard, infrastructure, or other participants’ machines;
- Denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks against any Event or third-party system;
- Attacking out-of-scope systems, the venue network, or the Organizers’ internal assets;
- Colluding, flag-sharing, or exchanging solutions with other competitors during the Event;
- Tampering with, defacing, or exfiltrating data from systems beyond what a challenge requires;
- Any activity that violates Philippine law, including RA 10175 and RA 10173.
8. Scoring, Flags & Disputes
Scoring is determined by the Platform according to the point values and rules published by the Organizers. The Organizers may adjust scoring to correct errors, address broken challenges, or penalize misconduct. All scoring decisions and dispute resolutions by the Organizers are final and binding. Disputes must be raised through official channels within the timeframe announced during the Event.
9. Prizes & Recognition
Prizes, certificates, and recognitions, if any, are awarded at the Organizers’ discretion to eligible Participants who comply with these Terms. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash unless expressly stated. Participants are responsible for any taxes or fees associated with prizes as required by law. The Organizers may withhold a prize pending verification of eligibility and compliance.
10. Intellectual Property
All challenge materials, branding, artwork (including the “Corrupted Renaissance” visual identity), and Platform content are the property of the Organizers or their licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from challenge materials without prior written consent. You retain ownership of the original write-ups and solutions you create; by submitting them for review you grant the Organizers a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use them for judging, verification, and educational purposes.
11. Disqualification & Enforcement
The Organizers may, at their sole discretion and without prior notice, warn, penalize, disqualify, or ban any Participant who violates these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or applicable law. Enforcement decisions are final.
12. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Event and Platform are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Organizers, the academic host, sponsors, and their respective officers and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your participation in the Event, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizers, the academic host, and sponsors from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misconduct, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (RA 10175). Any dispute arising from or relating to the Event shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Philippines.
